Garment Care Guide

Our garments are carefully made from premium GOTS-certified organic cotton, chosen for its exceptional softness, breathability, and durability. With the right care, your EcoOutfitters clothing will stay looking and feeling great for years to come.

Natural Shrinkage

Unlike many conventional fabrics, organic cotton is not treated with chemical anti-shrink finishes.

As a result, garments may shrink by up to 5% in length after the first wash. This is completely normal and has been taken into account during production.

Our garments are intentionally cut slightly more generously so that, after washing, they settle to their intended size.

Before First Wear

We recommend washing all garments before their first use.

Organic cotton naturally becomes softer with every wash while maintaining its strength and durability.

Washing Instructions

For the best results, we recommend:

• Machine wash at 30°C
• Fasten all zips before washing
• Turn garments inside out
• Wash with similar colours
• Use a gentle, non-biological or eco-friendly detergent
• Avoid bleach and harsh chemical stain removers where possible

Lower temperature washing helps protect both your garments and the environment by reducing energy consumption.

Drying

For best results:

• Line dry whenever possible
• Dry garments inside out to help preserve darker colours
• Avoid excessive tumble drying, as this may increase natural shrinkage and reduce the life of the fabric

Fresh air drying is kinder to both organic cotton and the environment.

Ironing

If required:

• Iron on a medium heat setting
• Iron while the garment is still slightly damp for the best finish
• For darker colours, place a clean cloth over the garment while ironing to help prevent unwanted shine

Looking After Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is naturally breathable, comfortable, and durable. Unlike conventional fabrics, it contains no PFAS-based stain-resistant coatings or unnecessary chemical finishes.
